So my dear, shall we dance????

Once upon a time there was a little girl to run after the grass hoppers mindlessly in a sumptuously lazy small town. The little girl used to get scared of the thunder storms and heavy rains. Cloudy dark skies would always make her sad and scared. Since the time she can remember things, she used to be happiest during the afternoon siesta as the rest of the whole house will be silent and she could enjoy her alone time. She would pass her time in the fruit garden bellow the tress and eat the seasonal fruits direct from the trees and would love to explore the insects and whatever caught her attention besides their huge pond. She would love to notice very seriously her tiny hand and her little fingers. She would often color her little hand and then make a print in a white paper. The many lines of her hand would be distinct in the paper which would catch her attention and she would always be fascinated by her own hand prints. The shadow of her hand was another favorite thing that she would remain busy with for a long time. She was very much fascinated by the fact that the shadow can grow to a big hand beyond her belief. And many evenings when there would be an electrical load shedding, she would play and pass her time very happily with the shadow she would create in front of the iridescent candles. Life seemed to be real bliss. Always small things used to be the source of pure happiness for the small girl.

Then the mighty years caught up. Life was changing pretty faster than she could ever think. Many books, school classes and many other hobbies were most important for the small girl and she tried to excel in everything she took part in to make her family proud of her. And slowly the times rolled out from then to NOW. A wife, a mother, a daughter in law, a sister in law....roles have many pronged facets to complete the demands of life. The grass hoppers and many childhood hobbies are replaced with household demands, occupational calling, family and social obligations etc.

The small girl becomes no more scared of thunder and heavy rain as well gloomy skies can’t make her hide now. The priorities have changed to so many things that it feels a different person has taken over the control of the surface and the small girl seems to be suppressed. Although deep down some time in lonely hours some voices do speak to express that the origin remains. The responsibilities and the many folded duties make life a very different spectrum of activities that we can’t envision earlier. The things which seem to be most important eventually turn out to be of no consequence and other things seize more focus virtually. The principles and ethos seem to differ from the ones we held close to our hearts with time, as we see the world in different aspects then we assumed to be. Maturity leads us to a new arena then we presume in reality.

The place we stay and people we deal with also carry a major role to imbibe our outlook about life. The characteristic and personality we project may be a reflection of the familiarities what we came across in life taken together. The small girl in me is not lost anyway with time. Sometimes we feel like protecting our very core from the world and hide our selves deep within. May be many emotional person prefers to hide their true selves and they portray to be reserved personality to rest of the world. The small girl still try to run around, chasing grass hoppers in mindless afternoons till the Sun sets into the horizon being all dirty in the dust and never care to look all untidy and restless. That is so very me. But then to dance in the tune of life NOW to be a responsible mother, a dedicated officer, a caring wife, a hand on homemaker, a keen daughter in law, a loving sister in law, a kind friend and a sensible citizen is what takes all the effort and energy. From where we start and where we land in life is all about what makes the reckoning of an achiever. It’s the connection we create deliberately with the ones we care for. The relationships through which we cherish our life here in this world are the roles we try to enact in a drama called LIFE.

Many among us, may enjoy looking at the starlit sky in the night ....may feel like getting lost in the air whispering across our face while walking alone in the road many a times.....may feel like flying into the gossamer clouds into the blue sky ....these may sound very impractical for some people but then, there is some linkage with what you originally started with. From where we started and where we have reached by now and where we still aspire to go is all about the life and experiences of every individuals here in this world. Though many of us never may stop and think about this but everyone once in a while when unaided may retrospect. We may grow up to be an altered personality but there should be always a correlation within that we ought to keep integral to be grounded. Subsequently there will be a rhythm in life. If we portray endurance, poise, flexibility and beauty in our performance of life to showcase a piece of smooth dance in the floor of world then it is a life well lived for. Thus at least I can say I try to live with the small girl still running amidst the green grass after the colourful grass hoppers while I keep my eyes focussed in the blue sky above without losing my grace and balance to perform in the tune called life.

Change is inevitable and only constant. Being a change in full cadence to dance throughout our life with a happy note should be endeavoured. A small girl or a small boy is within each of us grown up children of yesterdays. We should always try to let the child in us run, jump, play, laugh, scream, climb etc to live a blissful happy life so that we maintain a balance within us to reach the destination as aspired in our journey from the start to end in a celestial harmony. A stress free life with success is very simple if only we embrace change with greater dignity and grace with maturity yet keeping alive the child within us to be happy with small things in this world. Gratitude and compassion in heart also can take us to pure delight. Feeling the nature around us is also an effortless way to be happy to dance in enchantment to enjoy the ride called life here.

We all dance to a tune called time in this journey called life. What matters most is how graceful and how colourful our performances are actually. Being true to our heart and soul to live a satisfactory time in a poised rhythm with happiness is what we should aim for. Let us put on our dancing shoes and dance like nobody is looking at us. And as if this is the last chance of our life here and we live every day to the fullest. Sweet melody to embrace us around in an aroma filled with beauty of nature, it’s just that we need to feel within and live happily. So shall we dance??
